As you probably know, this year we made a deliberate change in conferences and events: transitioning the venerable APIStrat Conference into the API Specifications Conference. The new conference is now quickly coming up!
15-17th October, Vancouver Canada

I covered the main reasons for the change in a previous post, and we’ve had a fantastic response from speakers: the conference program has really become a who’s who of the API Specifications world! There is even more yet to be announced.
Along the way though a few people have asked “why run an event with such a ‘narrow’ focus”? That’s a natural question but it has a straightforward answer: There are quite a number of excellent general API conferences (APIDays in Barcelona just wrapped up and was a great example!), however, great as these events are, as community we also need to deep dive into the standards and frameworks that underpin the API world.
The API Specifications Conference will be smaller, more discussion oriented but all focused on how the various standards and formats we have need to evolve, how tooling can be developed and the formats can be used. As an industry we have a lot more to do and ASC will hopefully play a role in making it happen.
Register now and looking forward to seeing you there!
